Getting there : June to October is the
best season to visit ruaha, Animals becomes
visible easily as the grasses are shorter, it is
also good time for bird watchers, and the
animals come to the great Ruaha river to drink.
November and December are hot, and the short
rains make the climate more humid, though these
certainly do not preclude a visit. January and
February are predominantly hot and dry but again
a good time to visit. March and April are wet
due to rain, movement around the park can be a
little more difficult and May is usually very
wet and is the time when most camps are closed.
Where to Stay : There are quality lodges
in Ruaha offering all inclusive packages ranging
from budget to luxury accommodation. The park
authority has allocated special areas for
camping. There are also rest houses and hostels
in the park for organized groups with their own
transport. Other lodges are found outside the
park.
What to do : Game drive, camping, bird
watching, walking excursions, hiking and
photography.
